School Photography – This is my ‘WHY”

I had to blink away the tears this week.

We were doing the school photos at one of the local secondary schools and a shy teenage girl was terrified of having her photo taken.  We spent a little bit of extra time.  When I showed her the photos on the back of the camera, her expression was priceless.  She loved her photos.

It was a good week for our school photography.   I have had hug from a teacher who never thought her photos could look so good.  Our entire photography team has had endless positive comments from both students and teachers.  Sometimes the best reaction is not even anything they say, just an instant expression of surprise and then delight when they see their school photo on the back of the camera.

One teacher put it brilliantly: “You have the best job ever, all you do is make people feel good about themselves all day!”  It really is true and is the guiding principle behind everything we do, but even more importantly with school photography.

And this is before they have seen the finished prints.

We really do have the best job ever, and this is my WHY.
